FM Bill of Rights - Folded Mayhem promises its customers that it will only use materials manufactured according to Fair Trade standards. While it costs more for materials that meet these standards, the trade off is knowing that our clothing was made by hands that were paid fair wages and provided with safe working conditions.
- We believe that customers deserve products from a company focused on preserving our natural resources. To accomplish this, Folded Mayhem works hard to maintain a paperless operating system, use recycled and renewable materials whenever possible, and to encourage all of our customers to reduce their footprint on the environment.
- Social activism takes many forms and is absolutely vital if we, as a society, are to have a positive impact on our world. Folded Mayhem seeks to reward and stimulate activism in a variety of arenas, which is why we partner with a different non-profit organization each month and donate a percentage of our total monthly sales to support their efforts.
- We believe that Folded Mayhem has the opportunity to provide artists and designers with the opportunity to build their work portfolio, which is why we invite customers and their friends to submit designs. Chosen designs will be sold on the site and the designers will be rewarded for their efforts.
- Clothing can be fun and family friendly at the same time. Folded Mayhem promises to maintain a web space that is safe for all ages. While many clothing companies offer hundreds of designs that often include some distasteful or inappropriate themes, Folded Mayhem promises to offer quality clothing designs that are safe for all ages.
Meet the Folded Mayhem Team Brian Herbert – CEO Shorts and a T-shirt. That is the clothing mantra that Brian tries to live by. After years of wearing a uniform to work as a law enforcement officer, he traded in those polyester pants and shirts for something more comfortable and eco-friendly. In addition to building up his collection of wacky tees, Brian has fueled a growing passion for social activism and eco-awareness. That passion and a desire to earn an honest living led Brian to found Folded Mayhem Clothing Company. “”I wanted a company that has a sense of humor, while making a positive impact on society by encouraging activism, environmentalism and artistic expression. Oh yeah and selling clothes.” Jake Peterson - CCO Jake is an outdoor lover. From hiking to having all the windows down in the car on a sunny day, he just can't get enough fresh air. Jake has always had a deep passion for nature and today is set on making sure his future children and grandchildren can enjoy what the same outdoor activities. When Jake isn't exploring new green efforts, he is running his design firm, 5j Design. As a graphic designer he takes almost all of his inspiration from nature and his surroundings. You will see that in some of our shirts, too. When starting folded mayhem Jake had this thought, "Why can't the clothes we wear be a reflection of the actions we take. You could say ‘hey, I bought this shirt and help a village in Africa. Oh and it was good for the environment. Oh and it's a sweet shirt too. I made the world a better place because I bought a shirt.’ That's awesome." Jake likes that idea, and he hopes you will to. www.5jdesign.com Holli Rausch - Diva of Design For longer than she can remember, Holli's email signature read,"design is more than just making things pretty." That mantra no longer reclines below her name, but it still makes a valuable point: instill, within everything you do, meaning. Holli has always striven to add meaning to her work, and with Folded Mayhem, she has a chance to do meaningful work. Whether humorous or profound, clever or topical, Holli hopes her designs embody the "clothing" as much as the "cause", with the right amount of "mayhem" Check out Holli's web site here: www.hollirausch.com The Board of Directors A Special Thank you to our Board of Directors for all their hard work in helping us make this happen.
